NICK DELGADO, Writer-Director

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Nick Delgado felt moviemaking’s call from a very early age. He spent his childhood making short films with his friends, including his own versions of Jurassic Park and Superman.

After graduating in English Literature from the University of Madrid, Nick crossed the pond to attend the USC School of Cinematic Arts. At USC he met some of his closest friends and collaborators and had the incredible luck of being mentored by one of his heroes, director Robert Zemeckis. His thesis film, The Macabre World of Lavender Williams, a fantasy short starring Christopher Lloyd and John Lithgow, was screened in over forty film festivals worldwide.

Nick started his professional life directing branded content (All Nighter With Mi Papá, one of his ads, drew more than a million views in a single day) while pursuing his main goal: writing and directing features and TV. In 2019 he was selected to be part of the 2019-2020 Universal Writers Program. At Universal, Nick wrote two horror screenplays for the studio.

During the pandemic, he wrote the feature spec Exorcismos Low Cost (Exorcisms Done Cheap) which was optioned by Spanish production company Bixagu (The Endless Trench).

Most recently, Nick successfully crowdfunded an ambitious sci-fi short called WebCam, starring Dichen Lachman (Jurassic World Dominion) and Drew Van Acker (Teen Titans). The film will debut on Dust this fall.

Nick’s ambitions as a storyteller center around telling big, mainstream genre stories about families coming together under extraordinary circumstances. He also intends to make a dinosaur movie someday!
